Our Story – A Journey to Neema’s Workshop
This is a story about 2 children who were born in 2 different countries. The boy was born and brought up in England, UK and the girl was born and brought in a small town in India.
Both the children had grown up in different ways, and they were bought together by their parents and family. Once they have started their married life, they faced lots of challenges in their lives, as all other couples do and they also overcame these challenges.
The girl also faced hurdles in her career, as her education was from a different country. As time went by the couple had a baby in the family and now things became harder with the responsibility of a newborn, even though they were enjoying their life as a parent. Even though life cannot go on with this type of struggle, so she decides to chase her childhood dream to open an art and craft school. It was a huge decision, which she was able to do with the support of her husband and son. When she was doing her schooling, beside studies she learned different types of handicrafts in school, art and canvas making, soft toys making and pottery and clay dolls making, crochet and knitting in GCSE and “A” levels equivalents she received a Grade A. Later, she learned sewing and cutting, hand embroidery and free hand machine embroidery in which she got a First Class Diploma.
While she was in Primary Schools' working as a Teaching Assistant, through different agencies. During that time, she did a course on Fashion Design from St. Martin College, London.
So, now according to her understanding she felt that she had enough knowledge in the field of art and crafts. It was then that she decided to take a big step in her life, which at the same time was also to chase her childhood dream, and open an Art & Craft School, with her husband’s help.
This is how our journey to Neema’s Workshop started.
Our Vision
The Art & Craft School will include all kinds of Art and Craft, Sewing, Knitting and Crochet for both children and adults. With time we will get you more different types of skillful courses for you to learn.
Since, the girl from India and now living in England, UK, has experienced both cultures in the different types of Art and Crafts, according to their native demand. So, she decided to make it global. Which will help the children not only to learn the Art and Crafts of their own country but also about other countries. That’s how our vision is “Global Sewing and Crafts” which will give everyone an opportunity to learn something new and enhance their own individual life skills. This is how our Art & Craft Workshops came into existence.
So, give yourself and/or your child a chance to experience something different and at the same time learn new skills from our workshop and courses.
Our journey to the name of the workshop
How did we get the name “NEEMA’S WORKSHOP?
The “NEEM KAROLI BABA” is the name of one our Hindu Guru’s in India, who is a devote and follower of one of our Hindu Gods, who we believe in.
